Ben Shephard snaps ‘you’ve ruined the end’ as Strictly star spills spoiler live on-air

Ben Shephard didn’t mince his words as he warned Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood on This Morning, declaring: “No spoilers, you’ve ruined the end,” after he’d inadvertently let slip too much during their chat.

The Tipping Point presenter, aged 49, and his co-host, Cat Deeley, were engaging with celebs involved in the 2024 Pantomime season. As Christmas and New Year approaches, stars are gearing up to deliver rollicking good times and holiday cheer to nationwide audiences.

On This Morning, Gok Wan, the show’s resident fashion icon dressed head-to-toe in costume alongside Paul Chuckle, provided ample laughter via video link while chatting with Cat and Ben.

Cat, a frequent Panto attendee, admitted her surprise at seeing a Merman character in Peter Pan, which prompted Gok to reveal they had specially tailored the role for him sheepishly.

Owning the moment, the style guru quipped, “I’m not saying I’ve been shoehorned in, but I’ve definitely been given a presence on stage,” earning applause from his hosts, who then egged him on to give a sneak peek of his solo act from the play, reports .

Gok obliged with a melody, delighting Cat and Ben with his vocal flair. Following on was the infamously critical Judge Craig from Strictly, also donning his Pantomime attire and ready to join the party via video call.

During the chat about all things Pantomime, the three found themselves engaged in a conversation regarding Craig’s portrayal of Captain Hook in Peter Pan at Milton Keynes Theatre.

To Ben’s dismay, Craig unintentionally divulged more details than intended.

Cat enthused that the highlight of performing in panto was “playing the role of the baddie.” Craig disclosed with glee: “I say, it’s the only part to have. I love coming on and upsetting people, it’s my favourite thing to do at Christmas and it keeps me off the streets.”

Craig continued: “I love the booing, I love the whole sense of theatre about it, I love the dark and sinister side of it all, it’s great. But it’s also a lot of fun, and I get my comeuppance in the end, and I get eaten by the crocodile, which is a little sad.”

Ben interjected: “No spoilers, come on Craig.”When the renowned judge queried: “What’s that?” Ben reiterated: “No spoilers, you just ruined the end for me.”

Offering a cheeky alternative, the One celebrity retorted: “Oh well, I might come back to life,” sending the entire studio into fits of laughter.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1, from 10am.
