As the weather turns wet and cold in the UK, it’s no wonder Brits are looking for some winter sun.
Even though many of us are excited for , many miss the feeling of warmth on their skin. Recently one woman’s winter left her a little stunned though, as it wasn’t what she expected.
creator @georgiasjournal, aka Georgia, shared her dismay after her family holiday to turned out to be a lot different than anticipated. Despite packing for scorching , Georgia was met with grey skies, and a distinct lack of sunshine upon her late November arrival.
When she arrived, she couldn’t believe her eyes, as the destination wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. In fact, the weather was a little bleak.
In a video, she explained: “I’m on holiday in Tenerife with my family, and we said ‘let’s book some winter sun’. Tell me where the sun is?
“This is the weather currently. It is freezing. We are meant to have thunderstorms today, and I packed a whole wardrobe as if it was like 30 degrees, it’s currently like 20.”

She added: “I have no jumpers, no cardigans, nothing. It’s freezing. I need answers from the Tenerife Government as to what they’ve done with the sun, as this is meant to be a winter holiday location.”
Despite receiving messages claiming it’s actually warm in Tenerife, Georgia stood by her experience, stating it’s not the winter warmth she had hoped for.
She longed to bask under blue skies and don a bikini, yet often found herself greeted by bleak and dismal weather – a stark contrast to her holiday expectations.
Georgia yearned to return home with a “fresh and tanned” glow, but the elusive dream appeared distant. Fortunately, following considerable “moaning”, the sun eventually graced Georgia with its presence, allowing her some coveted sunbed time before her holiday concluded.
