Skyla-May, 7, and Tawny, 10, were last seen at Strathcona Elementary at the lunch bell just before 1 p.m.
Vancouver police are looking for two young girls who failed to return to school after the lunch break.
Skyla-May, 7, and Tawny, 10, were last seen just before 1 p.m. Tuesday on the playground at Strathcona Elementary School, near East Pender and Jackson Avenue.
Tawny is about four feet tall, has light skin and dark, shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a long black sweater, blue pants and red shoes.
Skyla-May has dark, shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a white or light grey long-sleeved shirt, a blue or grey hooded sweater wrapped around her waist, white or grey pants and pink boots.
“There have been numerous sightings of the girls in Strathcona and Chinatown throughout the afternoon — most recently at International Village — however, their whereabouts are currently unknown,” said VPD spokesperson Const. Tania Visintin in an alert sent around 5:15 p.m.
“Given their age, cool temperatures and nightfall, police are increasingly concerned for their wellbeing.”
Anyone who sees Skyla-May or Tawny is asked to call 911 and stay with them until first responders arrive.
