has set his sights on becoming the first ever snooker player to win £2million in prize money in one season after storming to the title at the York Barbican at the weekend.

The Bristol-born potter 10-8 in the final to win the event for the second time in his career and is now also aiming to win all three Triple Crown events in a single season.

Snooker’s Triple Crown is made up of the Masters and the World Championship, as well as the event in York.

Stephen Hendry, Mark Williams and Steve Davis have all won all three tournaments in the same season, but blockbuster star Ronnie O’Sullivan has never achieved the feat.

Trump will open his Masters campaign in January against the player he beat in Sunday’s showpiece match.

He will then round off his season at the World Championship at the Crucible in the spring, with the event marking the end of the campaign.

“It would be absolutely incredible to win the Masters and the World Championship,” Trump told Eurosport after seeing off Hawkins. “I don’t see a reason why I can’t. I’m playing well enough, I’m dedicated enough, hungry enough.”

Trump was in scintillating form in Yorkshire as he was forced to overcome Neil Robertson, John Higgins, Anda Zhang and Kyren Wilson on the way to the final.

And after bagging himself £250,000 by landing the trophy to take himself past the £1m prize money mark for 2024-25, he explained: “It would be nice to reach £2m. It’s never been done before.”

Trump added: “[I would tell young snooker hopefuls to] put your phone down and put the hard work in, I think that’s the main thing.

“To me there’s no weekend – every day is the same for me. I’ve always been like that from a young age and even more so when I turned professional.

“There’s no weekend off, every day is the same day, every day is Monday to me. I practise seven days a week if I can – I would never ever take a day off out of choice, really.

“That’s why my record is so good. You get people when they win the Triple Crowns telling you they target them, but no one can target a tournament. You just go out there and play your best every event otherwise why are you there?

“People say some of the smaller events are easier to win, but it’s the same players there. You go through the same emotions, you’re trying your best, it’s no easier to win.”

Trump has already won the Masters on two occasions after lifting the trophy in 2019 and 2023. And he landed his only World Championship title in 2019 when he overcame Higgins in the final.
