Former actor Charlie Lawson has been slammed on X for voicing his apparent support of star
Wallace is accused of sexual misconduct from at least 13 women, including Location, Location, Location star and Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark. He denies all allegations, claiming they all come from “middle-class women of a certain age”.
In a new video posted to his account, Charlie – who played Jim McDonald in the ITV soap from 1989 until his last appearance in 2018 – has hit out at the women accusing Wallace, claiming they are “ruining his life”.
In the video, he said: “Listen, I’ve been asked several times, so I’m just going to answer. I’m aware we’re now living in the world of, ‘Oh god, I’m fr***ing offended, that’s upset me’ and all the rest of it. Kirsty Wark – she’s a top journalist, top bird, great at her job, all the rest of it.
“If Gregg Wallace said something that offended her, why in the name of God didn’t she just turn around and say, ‘Shut the f*** up, baldy’? But we’re in this country where everyone’s getting offended. God almighty.

“Anyway, all the actresses I’ve worked with over the years if anybody said anything out of order, they’d just turn around and say, ‘Shut the f*** up’. Maybe I’m daft. Maybe I think Kirsty should have had a bit more guts, but there you go.
“It will run and run and run and Gregg’s life will be ruined and I’m sure if he touched anyone or anything he’ll get found out and get done. In the meantime, have a nice day. We’re on our way out to lunch!”
Accompanying his video, Charlie wrote: “What’s the betting I’ve offended someone?!!” and fans quickly headed to the replies section.
Many, however, were in support of the star, with one writing: “You’re absolutely right Charlie, people have forgotten to sort things out there and then and put an end to something.” As another agreed: “As a woman, Charlie, totally agree with you.”

However, other fans slammed his views on the matter, with one writing: “Agree and disagree Charlie. In my life I have had lewd, inappropriate remarks made to me & at the time sometimes you are so completely shocked that a man would speak to you in that manner you can be struck dumb. It is also edge embarrassing to be spoke to in that way.”
star Narinder Kaur added: “You raise an interesting argument. Charlie and I agree somewhat. But I remember bumping into one of the worst offenders at school, a little bully that was horribly racist throughout my high school years.
“When I questioned him he replied ‘to be fair, Narinder, you gave as good as you got.’ But was it fair that I spent my whole high school [life] fighting off racism? Even if I gave back good?”
