Jimi Mistry took the moves he learned on and used them during his wedding to Flavia Cacace.
The retired actor, 51, was partnered with Italian professional Flavia, 44, when he appeared on the programme in 2010 and the couple immediately hit it off.
But this wasn’t Flavia’s first romance which stemmed from the show. In 2007, she left her professional partner ex Vicent Simone for her then-dance partner Matt Di Angelo, but they split three years later.
After her relationship with Jimi was made public, Flavia felt she would be judged by the public after falling for another man on the show.

She told The Telegraph: “Of course. I couldn’t believe it. I thought, ‘Oh God, please no!’ But we couldn’t help it. It was fate.”
Jimi, who starred as Kal Nazir in , tied the knot with Flavia in 2013 and revealed they used the same band on at their wedding.
“We also had the Strictly band playing, so for our first dance, we did a Viennese Waltz into a Salsa,” he told The Huffington Post in 2021. “It went from very classic to something quite raunchy, which was fun.”
Jimi continued: “We were at the St Pancras Hotel in King’s Cross, but I can’t remember much about it because it was obviously late in the day, but I’d been training really hard. I’d never have imagined I would have been doing that, but I dusted off the shoes.

The couple managed to avoid the dreaded “Strictly curse” as Flavia announced she would not be returning to the competition in 2013.
However, Jimi went on to slam the idea of the curse, saying: “Some people might meet their future wife like I did, or they might have something going on in their lives that other people make out to be more than it is, or have flings. It’s life – there’s no curse.
“It’s just the way it is. Strictly is quite an intense experience, so it really does depend on how your life is, where you’re coming from, what’s going on.”
While romance blossoms between plenty of stars on , there’s only a select few who can say they met their future husband or wife on the show and stood the test of time.
In 2021, Jimi and Flavia announced they were quitting showbiz and moved to live on a smallholding in Devon.
