The presenter is best known for working on presenter, News and most recently Classic FM radio. But away from his broadcasting career, he shares a beautiful relationship with his beloved spouse, Sarah.

The couple, who initiated their romantic storyline during their university days at the University of Sheffield where Dan achieved his broadcast journalism degree, sealed their bond in matrimony in 2001 after a two-year romance.

They have since made their nest in South Yorkshire, raising three childrenChuck, Susanna, and Jessica and they share their residence with Winnie, their adored rescue cockapoo.

To mark almost two decades of union in 2020, Dan let fans in on a glimpse into their relationship, taking to with a picture of a pair of golf shoes, alongside the remark: “One of the secrets to nearly 20 years of marriage… Golf shoes for #Valentines Day.”

Interestingly, when the couple exchanged vows in 2001, they bucked one popular tradition at their idyllic nuptials; Dan confessed at the beginning of his Strictly journey that he had abstained from dancing at his own celebration: “I didn’t even dance at my own wedding. I do distraction tactics, I do messing around on the sides,” shared Dan, reflecting on his big day.

“We’ve been married 20-odd years now and it has always been our plan to have a party for our 25th anniversary, I would love to do a dance and for her to learn a dance, and for us to do it together and makeup for my lack of wedding-day dancing”, reports .

Despite Dan’s status as a public figure, Sarah prefers a life away from the spotlight, and similarly, the identities of their offspring are carefully veiled on social platforms.

The TV star quipped: “I’m six foot six, I was always tall and awkward, it was just easier to avoid it and be the joker on the sideline instead.”
