Eamonn Holmes supports I’m A Celebrity star after ex Ruth Langsford backs rival

has urged the public to vote for his “best friend Barry McGuigan to remain in the camp.

The presenter took to and urged his 793,000 followers to support the retired boxer. He posted a picture of the Clones native in the jungle with the words “Vote Barry” embedded on the image alongside an emoji of a boxing glove, a bicep and a twinkling star.

He gave followers an insight into their relationship in his caption. “We’ve known each other for 45 years and are best friends. Hope you can help keep my pal Barry in The Jungle (sic),” he wrote tagging the former world champion and including a thumbs up emoji.

His support of Barry comes just days after ex-wife arrived in to support her colleagues Jane Moore and GK Barry.

According to betting giants Ladbrokes it is now a two horse race for the title of king or queen of the jungle.

McFly star Danny Jones remains the odds-on favourite at 5/6 to win the show, but is hot on his heels at 2/1.

Although lagging some distance behind Richard Coles at 8/1 and Maura Higgins at 10/1 complete the frontrunners line up.

Meanwhile Ruth’s friend GK Barry (28/1), judge Oti Mabuse (40/1), star Alan Halsall (66/1) and former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos (100/1) all seem to be out of contention.

“Punters are convinced the race for this year’s I’m A Celebrity crown is now down to just two names, with Danny and Coleen storming ahead in the betting,” Ladbrokes spokesperson Alex Apati said.
