Del Potro has dated a number of celebrities over the course of his career, including Argentine popstar and actress Jimena Baron.The 37-year-old, who is the ex-girlfriend of former striker Dani Osvaldo, was in a relationship with Del Potro between 2017 and 2018. They ultimately broke up after nearly 11 months and moved on to other partners.Later that year, Del Potro started seeing model Sofia Jimenez and went on to date marketing manager Oriana Barquet, but they separated in early 2023.Not much is known about Del Potro’s current relationship status, but he has been romantically linked with fellow tennis player Gabriela Sabatini.

Having £24m ‘stolen’ by his father

Two years ago, it was claimed that Del Potro’s father Daniel had allegedly misappropriated around £24m of his son’s career earnings while managing his financial affairs.The claims were made by TV presenter Karina Mazzocco, : “In the bank, he should not have more than three million dollars.

“It’s a lot of money, of course, but he thought he never had to work again in his life when he realised this disaster. Juan found himself with the worst scenario when he got into the numbers.”

Del Potro’s father died in 2021, prompting the tennis icon to share an emotional tribute on . Living in a ‘never-ending nightmare’

due to the endless injury setbacks which have plagued his career.He has been forced to undergo at least six operations, countless injections and further complications which have left him unable to do even basic day-to-day activities.”I was never able to climb stairs without pain,” he explained. “It hurts when I drive, it hurts many times when I go to sleep. My daily life isn’t what I would like it to be.”Every time they gave me the anaesthesia, I hoped that the problem would be solved and after two, three months I was always calling the doctors to tell them that the surgery didn’t work. I hope this will finish someday because I want to live without pain.”Del Potro admitted that he was ultimately defeated by the problems with his knee, adding: “I felt so powerful when facing those obstacles, but after all I understood that I’m not that strong. That knee beat me.”
