BBC Strictly star Janette Manrara shares It Takes Two update amid calls for her to be axed

Former Strictly pro Janette Manrara has addressed the future of the companion show It Takes Two amid suggestions from fans that Fleur East should take over as host on her own.

Janette, 41, who shares hosting duties on ‘s spin-off It Takes Two with fellow talent Fleur, 37, has delivered a fresh update about the programme following the calls on social media.

Fleur took charge on Monday’s episode where she interviewed and Michelle Tsiakkas about their recent departure from the dance competition.

Amid acclaim for Fleur’s presenting chops and subsequent calls for her to fly solo, Janette returned to fans with updates, including a behind-the-scenes peek into the It Takes Two set on Wednesday. While in the studio, she shared sentiments about the ongoing series in the footage.

To her audience, Janette said: “Hi team. Guess where I am. It Takes Two, baby. I can’t believe we only have… what two weeks left?” as an off-camera voice confirmed: “Two weeks left. Two and a half weeks.”

This update follows hot on the heels of a public outcry for Janette to step down from her presenting role on It Takes Two, in favour of her colleague Fleur. Fans took to social media to voice their opinions, with one viewer posting on X, previously known as Twitter, on Monday: “Fleur is an easier watch than [Janette], get rid of Janette and have Fleur as the presenter.”

Janette Manrara, who graced the Strictly dance floor as a professional from 2013 to 2020, has been at the helm of It Takes Two since 2021. She initially co-hosted with Rylan Clark before Fleur, the singer-songwriter, joined her last year.
