Escape to the Chateau’s Angel Strawbridge breaks down in tears over ‘personal’ question

Angel Strawbridge welled up with tears while addressing a touching “personal” question about something she hadn’t “really considered”. 

On a new episode of Dick & Angel’s CHAT…eau Podcast, the stars opened up about their recent Forever Home UK tour. 

asked to share what she thought of the questions they had received while on the road, to which she replied: “I loved them.” She continued: “Personally, I loved the personal ones the best because there was, you know…”

However, interjected, saying that he enjoyed a question that enquired about who their “favourite child” was, remarking it was a “good one for Mummy”. 

Angel went on to say: “I like the questions that made you think. You know, there was a couple of really sweet ones like, you know, ‘What do you want your legacy to be?’ I hadn’t even ever really considered it.”

As she spoke, Angel could be heard welling up with tears, something that didn’t escape the attention of her husband, who said: “Eyes are watering here, people.”

Dick and Angel starred in from 2016 to 2022, with the series following the adventures of the couple as they revamped an old French château. 

While visiting the UK, they met up with their extended family, with able to see his mum and remarking that he could see her “smiling, surrounded by people she knew”. 

Speaking previously on the podcast, Angel replied: “Yeah, your mum had that sparkle in her eyes and you and your mum having a little drink together – oh, it made me cry!”

It follows news that the couple are “totally invested” in their great niece Heidi, with Dick saying she’s a “beautiful little baby girl”, before sharing that they threw a baby shower for the new arrival. 

The couple, who spent seven years renovating the 45-room , in which they live with their children, Arthur and Dorothy, have also released a new book, titled ‘A Taste Of The Chateau’. 

In the book, they share the family’s best-loved celebrations, as well as recipes and rituals.

“Christmas is at home for us,” says Dick. “It’s usually just the four of us. But the run up to Christmas is as special as Christmas for us.”
