Max Verstappen found Craig Slater’s hairstyle hilarious
provided a fantastic response when he learned a Sky Sports journalist had shaved ‘M4X’ into his hair. A hair artist shaved the tribute to Verstappen’s fourth consecutive title into the hair of Craig Slater.
Verstappen sealed another World Drivers’ Championship title by finishing fifth at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. His 63-point lead over ’s is now unassailable heading into the final two race weekends of the 2024 season.
Slater, a familiar face on Sky’s F1 coverage, wanted to mark the incredible achievement and visited London hair stylist Sheldon Edwards, who shaved ‘M4X’ onto the back of the journalist’s head.
Verstappen was shown Slater’s new style ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix. The star was left stunned and gave a hilarious response.

“Oh my god!” exclaimed the Dutchman.
“That is… you’ve done a great job! That’s actually very impressive. Oh my god. That’s a nice touch. I’m not going to take that myself but I appreciate that. Well done!”
A video uploaded to Sky Sports’ X account shows Slater receiving his new style. Edwards has cut the hair of some of football’s biggest names.
In the clip, Slater says: “I am in the very capable hands of Sheldon Edwards, a London hair artist who has a client list [which is] the envy of most managers. You’ve got Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Vinicius Jr, and the list goes on and on.”
When the art was finished a surprised Slater yelped: “What?! My wife is going to kill me!”

Max Verstappen won his fourth consecutive F1 World Drivers’ Championship last weekend
Verstappen enjoyed another memorable year. The 27-year-old overcame a mid-season wobble to race clear of Norris and win another world championship. It remains to be seen whether can build a more dominant car for next year.
“It was great, I was very happy with the season and then winning it in Vegas,” Verstappen said last weekend. “For me, it was a very intense season so it was also very nice to celebrate it a little bit.”
