Alison Hammond told a caller she was “breaking her heart” in an emotional chat on This Morning today.
Alison and co-host Dermot O’Leary were back to present a new episode of the ITV mid-morning show, where they had been giving fans all the best Black Friday deals. They wanted to help someone earn some extra cash with their usual Spin to Win segment.
However, this one was quite emotional – as Alison and Dermot called one lady called Kirsty. For once, the first person to pick up the phone said the passphrase and got a chance to win some money ahead of Christmas.
The lady was overcome with emotion as Alison and Dermot spoke to her, admitting she never thought she’d even get through to have a go on the wheel. In tears, the lady admitted it was her birthday and she’d love to win anything.

Alison spun the wheel for her and she ended up winning £1000 after some help from Dermot, leaving Kirsty overcome with emotion. She was in tears as she said she never expected to even get a call – let alone on her birthday.
Hosts Dermot and Alison told her she was breaking their hearts. When they asked if she was still there, Kirsty said: “Oh my god!” as she broke down in tears: “Thank you so much. I don’t know what to do with the money, this never happens to me.”
Alison said: “You’ve got the jackpot darling! You’re breaking my heart. I’m so happy for you. I hope these are happy tears,” as Kirsty replied: “Yes they’re happy tears! I’m here with my two daughters – and it’s the best birthday present ever.”

Alison admitted she was getting emotional and wished Kirsty the best day, as Dermot signed off and the pair hugged.
Following the chat, the pair reflected on the call, thrilled to have made someone’s day, before they headed over to chat to Prue Leith, who was on the show to celebrate the recent The Great British Bake Off winner as well as discuss her cooking hacks.
However, one hack didn’t go quite to plan on live television as she tried to show Alison and Dermot how to cut an avocado using a wire cooling rack. It didn’t really work as the avocado wasn’t ripe enough and it didn’t end up working.
