Love Island’s Maura Higgins confessed to what she termed an honest ‘accident’ in the I’m A Celebrity jungle further stoking the camp’s tensions following a significant revamp.
The celebrities are set to experience a new way of life in the jungle, which was almost made more challenging due to Maura’s blunder.
In Thursday’s episode (November 28), all the campmates gathered at the trial area with hosts Ant and Dec, as the outcome of the latest challenge would affect everyone.
The public vote selected Radio 1 host Dean McCullough, McFly’s Danny Jones, and star Alan Halsall for the most recent Bushtucker Trial.

The trio competed in the Rank Bank but prior to this, the campmates were divided into teams. Ant and Dec clarified that Alan, Danny, and Dean would participate in four races to earn money for their team’s bank accounts. This cash would be used to buy essentials such as showers, meals, and use of the dunny.
The first-place winner would receive $300, the second-place finisher $200, and the third-place contestant $100. Each race had a three-minute time limit, meaning if they didn’t finish the race within the allotted time, they wouldn’t win any money for their account, reports .
After a star-free trial, the campers’ base underwent a significant revamp, implementing $10 turnstiles for using amenities such as the dunny, shower, pool, and bath. Additionally, the vending wall appeared, offering fresh filtered water and logs at $10 per item, and a treat machine was installed to allow the purchase of extra goodies for the campsite.

But the drama didn’t end there; upon returning from the challenge, Oti Mabuse from and Reverend Richard Coles discovered they couldn’t locate the camp’s rice and beans. The campmates soon realised Maura had mistakenly disposed of them with the rubbish.
Undeterred, Oti, accompanied by Richard, ventured to the waste bins and, to their relief, managed to recover the lost provisions.
Maura later admitted in the Bush Telegraph: “I didn’t throw the rice and beans in the rubbish on purpose or anything, although that’s the place for them if I’m being honest! It was a complete accident.”
This misadventure added to an already tense atmosphere stoked by Dean’s grumblings about his chores. The tension escalated in the previous episode when radio DJ Melvin Odoom playfully branded him ‘Houdini’ for his knack of vanishing when needed most.
While Melvin was spotted heaving his fourth bucket of water that morning, Danny quipped: “Is Houdini with him?” as Jane Moore pointed out that Dean was showering, with Melvin humorously adding: “Houdini does another trick again!”
While Melvin persevered with the arduous task of carrying the hefty water containers, Jane spurred him on, remarking: “Come on Melvin, you’ve got to leave some for Dean to do!”
Meanwhile, ex-boxer Barry McGuigan couldn’t resist a jibe, jesting: “Don’t hold your breath!”.
