The visibility-obscuring aero aid ain’t just for show either—at speed, it creates up to 2,205 lbs (1,000 kg) of down-force
- Manthey’s newest kit for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS swaps out the rear window for a massive spoiler mount
- In concert with a bunch of other aero improvements, the giant wing makes a literal tonne of down-force
- The kit, sans Porsche 911, costs CDN$177,000 and doesn’t void your factory warranty

The Manthey Racing kit extracts even more performance by focusing on three main areas: aerodynamics, braking, and suspension setup. One of the most prominent features of the kit is the rear-window-mounted carbon-fibre fin. It is inspired by a similar appendage on the Porsche 963 endurance racing hypercar, and helps increase cornering stability.
In addition to the shark fin, other aerodynamic elements on the Manthey Racing kit include roof fins; dive planes ahead of the front wheels; a new front spoiler lip; wider rear diffusers; aerodisc wheel covers; and larger, redesigned end plates on the rear spoiler. The result is a track monster that generates over 2,205 lbs (1,000 kg) of down-force at 177 mph (285 km/h). For context, the stock 911 GT3 RS generates 1,896 lbs (860 kg) of down-force at the same speed.
At the same time, the semi-active coilover suspension has been fine-tuned, providing greater precision and maximizing racetrack stability. The braking system has also been improved, with steel-sheathed brake lines that Manthey Racing says provide a more direct pedal feel and better response time.
“Over a period of two years, we worked together with Porsche engineers on the new Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS and tested it over several thousand kilometres on European racetracks and on the Nürburgring Nordschleife,” said Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH.
The Manthey Racing kit is ready to order at an eye-watering CDN$177,500 (£100,000) not including the Porsche 911 GT3 you’re sticking it on,and will be available outside Europe from March 2025. Interested clients will be delighted to note the kit will in no way affect the standard manufacturer’s warranty on the 911 GT3 RS.
