team bus was seemingly caught up in a motorway crash less than 24 hours after their defeat to at Anfield.

Footage from a video clip shared on social media appeared to show damage to the front bumper of the La Liga champions’ luxury vehicle, with which they travelled to the stadium on Wednesday night.

The coach can be seen parked in a stationary position behind a lorry on the side of the M40 motorway, one of the main roads in the UK that connects London to Oxford and Birmingham.

It is not yet known whether there were any players or staff members were onboard or if there have been any injuries caused by the collision.

The incident occurred the day after celebrated a 2-0 win in front of their fans against Los Blancos after goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo in the second half.

It proved to be a miserable trip to England for European reigning champions Madrid as Kylian Mbappe saw his penalty saved by Caoimhin Kelleher in the second half.

They would have been due to travel back home to Spain by plane shortly after their Champions League fixture, as Carlo Ancelotti’s side look ahead of their domestic fixture against Getafe on Sunday, December 1.

However, their team coach would still need to be transported back to the Spanish capital via road.

It is bizarrely the second time a Real Madrid team bus has been involved in a road accident this year when travelling to or from a Champions League fixture.

Back in February, Madrid were on their way to play RB Leipzig in the Champions League when a frightening collision occurred between the vehicle and a white Toyota on the A4 between Eichelborn and Hora in Germany.

The damage was minimal and the team were able to continue on their journey. But the Toyota driver’s damage was significant as the bill cost the man around £2,500.

Madrid only unveiled their new-look state of the art bus in October 2024, which is synonymous with transporting players to and from games – even for home fixtures.

After spending close to £1.5billion on redesigning their Santiago Bernabeu home, the Spanish club opted to decorate their bus in a similar high-tech style.

The bus is also covered with images of the trophies they have won, which includes 36 La Liga titles, 20 Copa del Reys trophies and 15 European Cups.

Real Madrid are yet to publicly address the incident.
