Mayor of London Sadiq Khan gave a group arguing for border abolition £3,600
has given thousands of pounds to activists who want a world without borders, according to reports.
The Mayor of London is believed to have given £3,600 of taxpayers’ money to a group which calls for the abolition of borders.
Migrants in Culture says it rejects the “false binary” of the “good/bad” migrant, with members practising the “absence of borders” within themselves, relationships and “organising systems”.
It also runs workshops where members “imagine and design for border abolition”.
A £500,000 pot of taxpayers’ money has been drawn on to fund the group as part of a project called Civil Futures, which aims to transform .
The first reported the sum believed to have been received by Migrants in Culture.
A spokesman for the Mayor of London told the same publication the Civic Futures programme was established to help bring the city’s civic leaders together to reduce inequalities and tackle challenges faced by Londoners.
He added: “The programme is intended to help leaders consider how they can help deliver for Londoners in their work as we continue building a fairer London for everyone.”
