There’s no hiding with new animation feature which has caused some users to suffer “anxiety”.

The phone messaging giant’s latest addition kicks in when someone is messaging another and has left some users furious.

The feature from the Meta-owned app includes a new speech bubble animation which appears when the other person you’re messaging is typing.

The feature means in short the other will know if you’re taking the time to respond or not even bothering at all.

“That update caught me off guard,” wrote one user who flocked to X (formerly Twitter).

Despite it being a relatively minor change, many users added their dismay on social media.

One user simply said: “I hate the new whatsapp typing box”, with another adding: “Just realised the typing bubble is on WhatsApp now.”

“The new typing animation seems purposely designed to give me anxiety,” another wrote.

The new speech bubble animation has been synonymous with Apple’s iMessage which depicts three dots which bounce up and down as the contact types the message.

The new animation from Whatsapp was initially used back in October as part of a test with a small group.

“This was just a small test, but it’s going back to normal now,” said a WhatsApp spokesperson to The Telegraph at the time.

The new feature is a series of changes seen among WhatsApp’s updates with one simple action causing users to become “irrationally annoyed”.

WhatsApp changed the feature when it came to users being “Online” and “Typing” with the words now being capitalised causing much dismay for some.

“Anyone else get irrationally annoyed by WhatsApp’s latest iOS update where, if someone is online, it’s now with a capital “O” (Online), or when someone is typing, it’s a capital “T” (Typing),” wrote one user at the time of change”.

As for WhatsApp’s latest change, not all were as perturbed with the update, saying: “I like the new WhatsApp typing indicator.”

Another quipped with a hilarious response adding: “Love the new typing indication in WhatsApp. But it would be more fun to see the number of characters being typed.”
