Kemi Badenoch
Kemi Badenoch has warned that Britain cannot sustain its current immigration levels, and warned it’s time to tell the truth about other cultures and numbers.
In her first major policy speech since winning the Tory leadership election, Ms Badenoch told the audience that it’s time to put British citizens first, and accepted that the previous Conservative government “did not deliver”.
She said that while tomorrow’s major immigration figure data release will likely show a fall in numbers, thanks to changes made by the previous Tory government, the post- controls put in place by are “not working”.
Ms Badenoch warned that numbers are too high, and the west is seeing major problems with trying to integrate migrants from certain cultures.
She warned that Britain will suffer without a shared national identity, which is being weekend by such high levels of immigration, and those same numbers are putting significant pressure on housing, roads and public services.
She said: “We can no longer be naive” and preemptively warned that Labour will try taking credit when tomorrow’s figures show a drop in numbers.
It comes just hours after Ms Badenoch during a fiery clash at PMQs.
She blasted Labour for “making everything worse” with its tax and spend plans as she supported a 2.7million-strong petition calling for a general election.
After Sir Keir began asking whether the would reverse his National Insurance hike, Ms Badenoch shot back: “If he wants to know what would do, he should resign and find out.”
