The Day of the Jackal star Lashana Lynch’s life from famous husband to biggest roles

British actress and James Bond sensation Lashana Lynch is embracing her latest character as a relentless MI6 agent on the trail of an assassin in The Day of the Jackal.

The tenacious investigator Bianca is engaged in a worldwide chase to apprehend the killer known only as The Jackal, even if it means sacrificing her personal life.

The new 10-part drama, which also features Eddie Redmayne, is currently being broadcast on Sky Atlantic with episodes accessible on NOW.

The actress’s star is on the rise in both television and film due to her dynamic roles and dramatic performances in recent years. But what do we know about the James Bond star’s life away from the camera?

Lashana Lynch’s early life and career

Born in Hammersmith on November 27, 1987, Lashana Lynch’s mother was a senior housing officer while her father worked as a social worker.

With Jamaican roots, Lashana is the youngest of three siblings born in west London and she confessed to British Vogue that she “only felt British outside the house”.

She further added that the rest of the time it was “Jamaican language, food and discipline, which is direct but calm”.

While at primary school, Lynch decided she wanted to pursue acting and participated in various school plays. She attended ArtsEd school in London and made her film debut in the 2012 movie Fast Girls.

Lynch has also had minor roles in The 7.39, Silent Witness, The Bill, Atlantis, Death in Paradise before landing a regular role in the comedy Crims.

What are Lashana Lynch’s most famous roles?

Lashana Lynch, known for her roles in Still Star-Crossed and Bulletproof, landed her first big role as Maria Rambeau in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Captain Marvel. She reprised this role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where she portrayed an alternative Captain Marvel.

She secured the role of Nomi in the latest James Bond film No Time to Die, starring alongside in his final appearance as the iconic spy.

In 2022, Lynch portrayed the hardened soldier and fierce fighter Izogie in The Woman King, mentoring newcomer Nawi in the ways of the Agojie.

Audiences may also recognise Lynch from her roles as Miss Honey in the film adaptation of Matilda: The Musical, and as Rita Marley in the 2023 biopic Bob Marley: One Love, where she starred opposite Kingsley Ben-Adir.

Her talent was recognised at the Black Women in Awards in 2020, where she received a distinction, and she later won the BAFTA Rising Star award in 2022.

Who is Lashana Lynch’s partner?

Lashana Lynch is currently married to British actor Zackary Momoh. Over the past decade, Momoh has appeared on TV, in films, and on stage, with notable roles in A United Kingdom, crime drama Seven Seconds, and the HBO series The Nevers.

Momoh has also featured in Death in Paradise, No Offence, Doctors, and Holby City. The couple are expecting their first child, although the exact due date remains unknown.

They lead a private life in the UK and not much is known about this star-studded couple.

The British actress once had a popular account where she posted pictures from her holidays, including her trip to Jamaica for the filming of James Bond, as well as behind-the-scenes snaps from the set of Captain Marvel with her co-stars.

However, she has now deactivated her account.
