ITV I’m A Celebrity chaos as accidental fire breaks out in camp

Chaos erupted in the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here camp when an accidental fire ignited and a contestant mysteriously disappeared, albeit temporarily.

The audience was thrilled to witness new participants tackle a challenge, especially after Radio 1’s Dean McCullough had endured five trials.

It was the turn of Love Island star Maura Higgins and journalist Jane Moore as they were the latest to be chosen by public vote to brave the ‘Fright at the End of the Tunnel’ task.

Hosts Ant and Dec eventually revealed that it would involve one crawling through a tunnel for secret codes while the other waited underwater to use them for unlocking stars.

However, while the duo undertook their star-hunting efforts, pandemonium was breaking out back at camp.

Don’t miss…

Reverend Richard Coles, who was a late arrival along with Maura but has been quick to establish himself as a firm favourite since his arrival, attempted to dry his socks over the fire. This inevitably led to a mishap.

His socks caught fire, prompting McFly’s Danny Jones and ‘s Alan Halsall to display the charred remains. The whole situation was the subject of much amusment for Danny as he quipped: “Reverend Richard’s socks were blowing holy smoke across the jungle!”.

But the reverend wasn’t the only one causing a stir; another celebrity’s absence added to the drama in the episode aired on Tuesday (November 26).

While Tulisa has taken on the role of washing up supervisor in the camp, ex-boxing champ Barry McGuigan volunteered to assist by transporting some pots and pans down to the creek. However, as Barry raced ahead, Tulisa arrived at the stream only to find him missing, reports .

Confused, she called out: “Barry…Barry? Where’s he gone? ” After repeatedly shouting for Barry, he eventually emerged from the dense jungle foliage, looking bewildered, prompting Tulisa to chuckle and remark: “You’ve gone too far!”.

In a Bush Telegraph confession, Tulisa expressed her concern, saying: “I think until Barry learns his way around the jungle a bit more, I’ll be keeping an eye on him because we don’t want to lose him out there, it’s a dangerous place.”

Barry’s unfamiliarity with the jungle is somewhat excusable since he hasn’t yet been selected for a Bushtucker trial, meaning he hasn’t had to venture far from camp.

Meanwhile, Barry’s eyesight has become a recurring source of humour for presenters Ant and Dec. The cheeky Geordie pair have frequently joked with the audience: “Barry needs glasses! He cannae see man!”.

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX followed by Unpacked on ITV2.
