has issued fans an apology after he cancelled a series of gigs after he was rushed to hospital.
The host was due to perform a talk in Exeter, Truto, Bath, and Nottingham over the weekend when he fell in and was taken to A&E.
On Tuesday (November 26), the broadcaster, 69, took to to explain his absence to his 1.3million followers online. The gardener could be seen in his house holding his gorgeous dog Ned in his arms.
He told fans: “Hello. I am so sorry to have disappointed all those people who were going to come and see me in Exeter and Truro and Bath and Nottingham.
“But on Friday afternoon I was rushed to A&E. I was kept in at the hospital over Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and had to have drips and all the rest of it.”

Although the star failed to explain why he was rushed to hospital, he reassured fans that he is on the mend and hopes to be back to full strength by next week.
He went on: “But I came home last night, and I’m feeling much better. I’m going to spend the next few days quietly recuperating here at home and hopefully by the weekend I’ll be back to full fitness.”
It didn’t take long before his loyal legion of fans flooded to the comments to shower him with well wishes. One user penned: “Monty Don very much hope you’re soon fully recovered. Warmest wishes from me and Gerard.”
Another agreed: “Sending so much love and best wishes to you Monty. Feel better quickly please” as a third echoed: “Bless you, you’re a national treasure. Never apologise and look after yourself with your wonderful furbaby [heart emoji].”
A fourth echoed: “Sending you so much healing love your way. There’s only one you and you’re a bit of a national treasure so be kind to yourself and take the time you need to heal [heart emoji].”
The Gardeners’ World host issued an apology to fans online
It comes after Monty threw his support behind farmers who descended on central London last week to proptest against the changes to inheritance tax.
In last month’s Budget, Chancellor Raches Reeves announced a 20% inheritance tax that will apply to farms worth more than £1million from April 2026.
Farmers have argued that the changes will destroy family farms, however, the government says it will make no difference to food security and have claimed only the wealthiest of landowners will be hit.
Taking to , the horticulturist wrote: “Solidarity and support today for all family farmers protesting today against this government’s punitive tax proposals that will devastate small family farms right across the country.
“Most people take food and the lovely countryside for granted but thousands of small family farms are the backbone of both our food supply, our contryside and – most importantly – of thousands of communities.”
