Mike Brewer gives ‘clear’ update on future of Wheeler Dealers after fears show axed

star Mike Brewer has of the popular TV series after fears the show had been scrapped.

The host of the restoration programme stressed the in 2025 but admitted their ‘Dreamcar’ spinoff show had been axed.

However, many misread Mike’s message and were concerned Wheeler Dealers was under threat, forcing Mike to make a quick clarification.

It came after a fan of the show to ask Mike when applications to feature on ‘Dreamcar’ were going live.

But, Mike responded: “We won’t be making a show any longer. Sorry.”

This caused furore among fellow show fans on social media with some individuals concerned that Wheeler Dealers itself was also at risk.

@Willmgreenhalgh asked: “What Wheeler Dealers itself or just the dream car series?”

@GrahamKnig9662 added: “Wow, that was a bit of a short response. Please provide more details. Is it the cost, the cast, or the lack of interest? Please elaborate.”

Hours later, Mike revealed that series 19 of Wheeler Dealers was still set to go ahead, with the show expected to air next year.

He replied on X: “Dreamcar was the highest-rated show of the year but it was too difficult to make and destroys any personal time.

“Just so we are clear, there’s NO plans to axe #wheelerdealers but we will no longer be making #dreamcar .. WD’s back to your screens 2025.”

Although fans were thrilled at the news of a new set of episodes in the pipeline, many were still “gutted” that the Dreamcar show had been ditched.

Wheeler Dealers is one of the most popular motoring shows on TV with Mike and fellow host Marc Priestley performing massive restorations.

The pair buy cheap secondhand classics and fully upgrade them before selling them on for a small profit.

They worked on everything from a Caterham Seven to an Alfa Romeo GTV during the last season.

The duo also which saw them put together cars from across Europe, Australia and the United States.
