By 2014, became the richest boyband in history from Britain and Ireland. 

The five-piece group, made up of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and were formed on The X Factor in 2010. 

One Direction earned £45million in one year alone, according to the Sunday Times’ list of richest musicians aged 30 and under. Four years after they first met, all five bandmembers had an individual wealth of £15million, which combined to a total of £70million.

Harry, 30, was believed to be the biggest spender of the group, owning three cars, two houses and a flat by 2014. 

The Daily Mail reported that the Watermelon Sugar singer splashed out £100,000 on an Audi R8 coupe, a 1970s Ford Capri worth £8,000 and £80,000 on a Range Rover Sport.

The Cheshire-born star also owned a £2.6million mansion in LA, a £3million home in north London and a £575,000 flat in east London.

Harry’s net worth has only skyrocketed since the band went their separate ways, having embarked on an incredibly successful solo career.

The Golden hitmaker currently boasts an eye-watering net worth of £200 million, making him the richest member of the band.

Zayn, who is playing a solo concert at London’s Eventim Apollo on Tuesday (November 26) and Wednesday (November 27), previously purchased a Bentley Continental GT worth £32,000.

The Bradford-born singer, 31, also bought a home worth £280,000 for his mother and a £2.2million mansion in north London. As of 2024, the Pillowtalk hitmaker’s fortune is estimated to be £62 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

In 2014, Niall owned a £70,000 Range Rover, a £2.2million home in London and a £1.5million mansion in LA. 10 years later, his net worth is believed to be around £55 million.

Louis, 32, used to be the owner of a £45,000 Porsche Boxster and had a £90,000 Range Rover and a £2.5million property in north London in 2014.

As of this year, Louis has the same estimated net worth as Niall at £55 million.

Money-wise, the most reserved member of the group was Liam, who was also known for being the most sensible member of the band. Two years before One Direction split in 2016, the Strip That Down hitmaker owned a flat in Canary Wharf worth £2 million and had no cars.

Liam tragically died at the age of 31 after in October. Before his death, it’s thought that the Wolverhampton-born star amassed a fortune of around £46 million.
