Distance from Vancouver: A 15-minute drive
Grouse Mountain is the closest ski hill to downtown Vancouver. The 1,200-metre mountain offers 34 ski and snowboard runs, 16 night runs and up to six terrain parks accessed via four chairlifts. There are no cross-country ski trails but there are nine kilometres of snowshoe trails, a handle tow and a magic carpet.
For the 2024-25 season, Grouse Mountain’s will have a new gondola featuring 14 towers, 27 eight-person gondola cabins, and a trip time of 5.5 minutes. The opening date has yet to be confirmed.
How do I get there by car?
Follow Georgia Street through Stanley Park and across the Lions Gate Bridge. Take the North Vancouver exit to Marine Drive, then left up Capilano Road for five kilometres.
Or from the Ironworkers’ Memorial Second Narrows Bridge, follow Highway 1 westbound to Capilano Road Exit North (exit #14).
Can I get there by transit or shuttle?
Yes, take the SeaBus from Waterfront Station to the Lonsdale Quay and from there take bus #236 (a 25-minute ride) to Grouse Mountain.
How much is a lift ticket? Do I need to buy in advance?
As of Nov. 25, 2024, lift tickets are $65 for a limited time. Limited runs are open, including Paradise and the bunny hill. Only the Greenway Chair Lift is operating. Guest services said they they are “waiting for more snow” to be fully operational at which time lift tickets prices will go up.
Does Grouse offer gear rental or lessons?
Ice skate, snowshoe, and sled rentals are also available with no need to book online.
What food and drink options are there at the mountain?

For casual fun, Altitudes Bistro on the second floor of The Peak Chalet has daily drink specials and outstanding views of Vancouver’s lights. And, of course, from just down the mountain, you have all of North Vancouver to choose from.
Are there any discounts available for Grouse?
If I don’t ski or snowboard, what else is there to do?
For those who don’t ski or snowboard, you can enjoy a meal and people watch at any of the mountain’s dining establishments mentioned above, or you can rent skates, snowshoes or a sled (or maybe all three!) and enjoy the afternoon.
