BBC’s Sara Cox shares rare insight into family life in ‘difficult’ four-word admission

Sara Cox, the BBC Radio DJ, has given a rare glimpse into her family life, confessing that she finds one thing particularly ‘difficult’. The 49-year-old appeared on ‘s popular breakfast show with and Ed Balls to promote the new season of her hit Two show Between the Covers.

The programme, which is set for its eighth series, allows Sara to run her exclusive book club where she welcomes celebrities to discuss their favourite books. The group also provides unique reviews of books from various genres, with each guest choosing a book, adding a touch of humour to the book club show.

“But teenagers for instance, you’ve got young adult children and I feel sad when they stop reading,” the TV presenter reflected. Delving into her personal life, Sara confessed in a four-word admission: “It’s difficult, isn’t it?”

She continued: “Because I used to read them three stories a night and I remember nodding off while reading.”

She went on to say: “It is lovely to get them to read and I find that they come back to reading when they are older. My son is 16 and is doing English Lit for A Levels so that helps. He is coming back to reading now. I also keep leaving books in my 14-year-old’s room.”

Sara is wedded to advertising executive Ben Cyzer, and the pair have been together for over 15 years, reports .

They first met in 2006 and were in a relationship for seven years before getting married.

During that period, Ben held the position of head of account management at advertising agency Fallon London, while Sara was employed at Radio 1.

The couple share three children, Renee, Lola and Isaac. Additionally, Sara has a daughter from her previous marriage to DJ Jon Carter.

After dating for a year, they exchanged vows in 2001. However, following four years of marriage, they chose to part ways.
