warned will be forced to “suffer for a long period” after he began his reign in charge with a frustrating draw – and hailed goalkeeper after a pair of fantastic saves.

Marcus Rashford gave Amorim the perfect start with a goal after 80 seconds, but United had to settle for a point after Omari Hutchinson’s stunning equaliser for Ipswich.

Amorim, who has changed United’s formation and way of playing, claimed it will take time for his methods to become second nature for the players and warned of some tough moments ahead.

Onana made two world-class saves and Amorim said: “I think that was clear for everyone to see. He saved us two times at least. He did a great job.”

“My players were thinking too much in the game,” said Amorim. “We had just two days altogether and we need more. It was a tough match and we lost some balls without pressure.

“We have to address the new ideas now and try to be better for the next stage.”
