I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! fans are suggesting one contender has effectively guaranteed their departure in what’s anticipated to be the first elimination, after they apparently revealed their ”true colours”.
The 2024 series of the ITV reality show has been underway for a week, with the latest bunch of celebrities having traded their plush lifestyles for the bare essentials of jungle existence.
Tensions mounted for the first time during the episode on Saturday night (November 23), which marked the moment when late arrivals Maura Higgins and Richard Coles finally made their way into the main camp. The atmosphere thickened when Dean McCullough and Alan Halsall crossed paths.
After chowing down on a jumbo portion of junk food won by Maura and Richard through their under-the-radar task and a gut-turning eating challenge, a drowsy Dean opted for a siesta. This coincided with chores needing attention; Jane Moore set off to gather firewood and reluctantly admitted due to camp mandates: “I can’t do it on my own,” reports .

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’s Dean McCullough
Alan observed Jane departing solo and sprang into action, opting to stir Dean from his slumber to assist. As Dean, lethargic and baffled from being awakened, scarcely twitched at Alan’s inquiry, “You don’t fancy it? No?”, the actor proceeded to join Jane, ensuring she wasn’t left to her devices.
Following shortly after but still groggy, Dean headed towards Alan and Jane, telling Alan pointedly: “You can go back now.”
Alan attempted to explain by saying: “I was trying to wake you up as soft as I could.”
This prompted Dean to retort: “Listen to me. If you’re gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright? It takes a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, alright, so you don’t need to turn around to me and say ‘do you not fancy it? ‘ ok? And then turn around and walk away.”
Alan responded with, “I’ve listened to you, Jane was halfway down here, that’s why I went…” only to be interrupted by Dean: “Ok I get that but you need to give me a minute mate.”
Alan Halsall clashed with Dean
The argument rumbled on, with Dean later commenting to the Bush Telegraph: “I opened my eyes and wee Tyrone from is like: ‘Come on, mate, you need to go down to the bottom of the creek’.”
Dean continued recounting the clash, noting: “He didn’t even give me a chance to say yes or no because he went: ‘You don’t fancy it? No?’ and ran. He was being a real camp leader. I was like: ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa don’t dig me out like that.’ And I had to say to him: ‘If you’re going to say: ‘Don’t fancy it? ‘ – give me a chance’.
“Because, of course, I fancy it. I want to help Jane. I went straight down and helped her.”
Later on, Dean was seen apologising to Jane before lending a hand in carrying firewood back to camp. Alan, taking a moment in his own Bush Telegraph, admitted: “It was a flippant comment, I’m sorry if you took it in the wrong way. Wasn’t actually meant like that, it was just a bit of a joke. If I was asleep and you woke me up, I won’t fancy it either.”
However, fans are already predicting Dean’s swift departure after a spat with campmate Alan. Viewers took to Twitter to express their views, with one suggesting: “Dean’s just earned himself the first elimination I think #ImACeleb.”
Another supported this viewpoint: “So that’s Dean being voted out first #ImACeleb #imacelebrity @imacelebrity.”
Others think Dean will walk from the show, with one tweeting: “Hopefully Dean McCullough will walk out, he’s insufferable. #ImACeleb.”
“Honestly isn’t it time for Dean to walk yet? He’s made himself look horrible this episode #ImACeleb,” someone else asked as another added: “Mark my words Dean will be the first to walk.”
