BBC Breakfast star tells viewers ‘go back to bed’ as she issues frank weather warning

Weather forecaster Louise Lear failed to mince her words during the latest instalment of Breakfast as she advised viewers to “go back to bed”.

The 56-year-old joined presenters Roger Johnson and Sarah Campbell on the morning programme to give frequent updates on the weather across the UK on Sunday (November 24).

But with Storm Bert still causing havoc across the country, Louise told viewers that it’s probably best to stay indoors if they can.

Handing the reins to Lousie for another report, Roger said: “Quarter past eight and if you just getting up and looking out your curtains, depends where you are in the country, but it lots of places it’s not a nice look, Louise.

Louise replied: “Go back to bed! It’s Sunday.”

She continued: “Stay watching the telly and don’t go out that’s probably the easiest solution. But, yes we’ve still got Storm Bert and it’s refusing to go away at the moment.

“And today, once again, it’s all going to be about the strength of the wind and heavy rain and this time particularly across parts of England and Wales,” she explained.

She then went on to share the areas that could be affected most by the harsh weather conditions.

Last year, Louise hit headlines after an accidental blunder occurred while she was presenting the weather for News at 10 for South Today.

Louise was interrupted by a male voice speaking over her during her report. The voice was of Jon Cuthill who was blissfully unaware he was live on One and that his mic was still on.

At the time Jon could be heard letting out a big yawn and a series of groans. He also spoke to his producer saying: “Standby, yeah I’ve been standing-by, oh hello – they’re calling you?”

After hearing the mishap, fans shared their thoughts online, with one writing: “@SouthTodayNews suggest a very quick apology due to the bbc news weather reporter who your presenter was quite disrespectful to whilst on mic when he didn’t think he was being heard – not nice to have to listened to #noPlaceForHisEgo and he didn’t even give his name at the end.”

Breakfast airs daily from 6am on One.
