Viewers of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing were left “devastated” after a spoiler about the fate of a star on Saturday night was leaked online.
With only seven pairs remaining in the programme, the competition is intensifying in the ballroom with the introduction of a Samba-thon.
The dance-athons are contentious every year, often resulting in chaos and the scores being added to their main dance, potentially flipping the leaderboard.
The results show is recorded every week on Saturday evening after the live broadcast but is aired on Sunday. The Daily Express knows the identity of the departing celebrity but will not disclose it.
Following the leak of the Strictly result overnight, fans rushed to X – previously known as Twitter – to express their disappointment. One fan expressed: “Gutted for them”.
Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec soared to the top of the leaderboard
Another remarked: “I’m shocked at this” and a third stated: “I’m not one to moan at these things usually, but what a ridiculous result.”
Another fan exclaimed: “Disgraceful neither should have been there!!!!” One was surprised: “WHAT?! I thought one of them would be in the bottom not both of them!” A fan vented: “OH HELL NO! “.
Some suggested that certain celebrities had been “stitched up” by the introduction of the Samba-thon. One fan posted: “I think the “sambathon” was put in to try and get certain celebrities down the leaderboard and make the dance-off easier for the judges and it’s backfired.”

On Saturday evening, and Aljaz Skorjanec dazzled the audience by scoring the first perfect 40 of the series with their breathtaking American Smooth to Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved.
The performance, which the professional dancer dedicated to his young daughter, left Shirley Ballas “speechless” and Anton Du Beke in tears, stating it reminded him of “why we dance”.
However, the top spot in the Samba-thon was claimed by and Lauren Oakley, who rocketed to the top of the leaderboard after earning a score of 39 for their Charleston to Yes Sir! That’s My Baby by Firehouse Five Plus Two.
Pete Wicks and Jowita sat at the bottom of the leaderboard
At the other end of the spectrum, and Jowita Przysta found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard, failing to impress with their Tango to Phil Collins and Phil Bailey’s 1984 hit Easy Lover, for which they received a mere 29 points. Their Samba earned them an additional three points, placing them fifth out of the seven couples.
Just above them on the leaderboard were and Michelle Tsiakkas, who accumulated a total of 34 points for their two performances, and and Dianne Buswell, also with a score of 34. Chris and Dianne found themselves at the bottom of the Samba-thon.
