The is said to be a fan of a sticky toffee pudding, according to one former royal chef.
Despite being extremely sporty – and having a competitive streak to go alongside that – it is said that the 42-year-old will not pass up the opportunity to indulge in a sweet treat or two.
During a previous official engagement, William spoke to chef Darren Watson, who asked him whether his wife liked the popular sweet treat.
After being presented with a chocolate biscuit cake, Darren is told by the royal that he had done a little research and found out that Kate loves a sticky toffee pudding – to which William replies: “Very good”.
Former chef Darren McGrady also previously spoke to Delish about Kate’s favourite pudding, saying: “Although I have never actually cooked for the Duchess of Cambridge, I know that sticky toffee pudding was one of her favourites.”

Speaking of the , he also added that one tweak was made for the royals, stating, “The original sticky toffee pudding had apricots in. And at Buckingham Palace, we changed it to dates, and these make it much creamier and much richer in my opinion.”
The revelation that Kate is partial to a sticky toffee pudding came around the time of her marriage. At the time, one of the chefs from the Old Boot Inn in Stanford Dingley – which is close to Princess Kate’s childhood home – revealed she had the dish whenever she came in.
Much like Kate, other members of the family are also said to have a sweet tooth – including the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Describing her as a “chocoholic”, Mr McGrady said that cake made for the late Queen wasn’t put aside in a biscuit tin, it was kept for her to enjoy over the coming days.
