Adam and his wife Sulina suffered major health challenges
The presenter disclosed: “Her mum was in hospital and she ended up really poorly. She ended up with an eating disorder, like a lot of 15-year-olds, she had friends going through it at school. So that took its toll.”.
Their health struggles served as a “stark reminder that there are other things in life,” and according to Adam, prompted the family to downsize and relocate.
They previously resided in a stunning 18th-century farmhouse in Lincolnshire, boasting five bedrooms and nearly three acres of land.
However, they realised that while “it was great when everybody was well,” it wasn’t so ideal amidst “chaos” and therefore, they opted for a change of scenery in 2022.
Adam confirmed his relocation during an episode of Gardeners’ World and stated: “Like so many of us over the last couple of years, I had time to just stop and think.
“Probably, in reality for the first time since I was about 16 years old – and realised that my life is slightly chaotic.
“So as a family, we’ve just decided to scale back, so I can spend more time with them – but it does mean I’ve got a smaller garden.”
