Taking this short quiz could tell you whether you think independently.

We’ve all seen personality quizzes online. The sort of ones which ask you for your favourite season and your ideal first date to arbitrarily determine which Disney movie most accurately describes you. They’re fun to take to kill a couple of minutes on a boring afternoon, but they’re not exactly accurate.

However, this could actually tell you something you never knew about yourself – because it tests the way your brain answers certain questions and then uses your responses to give you an accurate personality reading.

Don’t worry if you’re not prepared to answer a tricky puzzle, however, as this is supposed to be super easy. All you have to do is answer a few simple maths questions.

The puzzle was shared on , where it’s already going for being “scarily accurate”. So keep reading to give it a go for yourself and see what the fuss is all about.

The concept is simple – all you have to do is answer the questions as quickly as you can. Don’t think about the answers too much, we promise the questions are super simple and speed is key for this one.

As laid out in the video, the questions are: “What’s 1+1? What’s 2+2? What’s 4+4? What’s 8+8? Now, name a vegetable as fast as you can.”

Easy, right? We can all do simple addition, and naming any vegetable is hardly a difficult task. But what’s important here is what vegetable you chose to name. If you said carrot, it could reveal something interesting about your brain.

[REVEAL]

The video explains: “If you said carrot, your brain operates the same as about 90% of people who play this game. This phenomenon, known as priming, occurs when the brain is subtly influenced or prepared to produce a specific response.

“In this case, performing simple mathematical calculations steers the mind toward a straightforward and conventional thought process, leading most people to choose carrot.”

However, if you chose a different vegetable for your answer, then you fall into the other 10% of people – which likely means you don’t follow the crowd and like to go your own way.

The clip continued: “If you named a different vegetable, it suggests that your thinking remains independent and resistant to external cues designed to guide it toward a predictable pattern.

“This demonstrates cognitive flexibility and strong autonomous decision-making, highlighting your brain’s ability to break away from the norm and think creatively, even under subtle psychological influence. This ability to defy expectations can be an asset in problem-solving, innovation, and navigating complex situations that require thinking beyond conventional boundaries.”

Commenters on the video were quick to name all the vegetables they said instead of carrots, including broccoli, potatoes, and cabbage. However, a few confused individuals admitted they immediately said “banana”, despite knowing that isn’t a veg at all.
