1. Eternity rings to become the new engagement ring

At the top of her prediction list was that eternity rings will become the new engagement ring. She thinks people will swap huge rocks for simpler styles to complinent their chosen wedding band.

Stephanie shared: “The beauty of Kate’s new engagement ring style is that it still incorporates aspects of her original engagement ring, with the eternity band featuring both diamond and sapphire gemstones. Wearing an eternity ring as an engagement ring is a modern take on a traditional solitaire ring, and can be more practical too, thanks to the smooth, even finish of the band and stones.

Furthermore, eternity bands can come in a variety of styles, including classic round bands or twisted styles, so you can still choose a unique engagement ring that suits your style.”

2. Yellow gold might overtake platinum next year

Yellow gold is back and it is here to stay, you only have to take a look at what is offered on the high street. It is one of the oldest precious metals and has a very warm and elegant look.

The expert said: “Over the past year, we have seen more vintage pieces dominate the jewellery trends of 2024, including charm bracelets and brooches.

“Therefore, it’s no surprise that we will see the vintage jewellery trend filter into the engagement ring sphere, with yellow gold being a traditional metal choice and synonymous with vintage pieces, so we can definitely expect this metal type to dominate the 2025 engagement ring trends.”

Oval engagement rings are here to stay

Stephanie explained that the jewellery industry had seen a sudden surge in oval sales, thanks to the likes of A-listers taking a shine to the style.

“We can thank many celebrities for the oval engagement ring trend soaring in popularity over the last couple of years,” she said.

Before adding: “We’ve seen Kourtney Kardashian and Hailey Beiber sport the same diamond cut, and with Lady Gaga more recently showcasing her stunning oval engagement ring in July 2024, it’s inevitable that this engagement ring trend will continue to be a popular choice into 2025.”

Yellow diamonds are making a comeback

It is no secret that yellow jewels are relatively uncommon because the supply of diamonds mined is limited – but they come with a hefty price tag.

High-end retailers like Tiffany have been known to produce some of the finest pieces of that colour. Over the years, Princess Kate in the most stunning jewellery – from the Elsa Peretti collection to the breathtaking Sapphire Oval Cabochon Earrings and Necklace.

Not only have Tiffany had the pleasure to style a royal Princess, but back in 2021 they had the chance to style the Queen of Pop she wore a yellow diamond necklace worth a whopping $30 million.

Stephanie said: “They offer a unique option for engagement rings and yellow diamonds come in a variety of shades, with the brighter yellow diamonds being more valuable.”

“I believe the oval will be the dominant diamond cut for newly engaged couples in 2025. However, I do think the cushion cut will begin to rise in popularity more, especially as we have previously mentioned about vintage styles making a comeback,” she said.

Stephanie continued: “The cushion cut was a popular diamond cut choice in the early 1900s and was predominantly placed on vintage style settings. It’s renowned for its brilliant sparkle and unique shape, making it a big contender for the 2025 engagement ring trends.”
