has praised his kids on the latest episode of his podcast as they gave sweet gestures to war veterans on Remembrance Sunday.

The TV star and his wife Angel shot to fame on the programme, , and hosted it for six years. But prior to this, Dick served in the military as a former Army officer.

Speaking on the latest episode of the podcast, Dick spoke about his experience of Remembrance Sunday in Manchester. However, he wasn’t joined by wife Angel and their two children; Arthur and Dorothy.

He was later informed that his family observed their own private two-minute silence at home. The 46 year old said: “It was really nice because Arthur and Dorothy were just sitting there, also in silence.”

Meanwhile, Angel added: “It was really sweet.”

This isn’t the first time that Dick has openly spoken about educating his two children about military history. Earlier this year, the family visited the sites commemorating WWII’s Normandy campaign & D-Day landings.

As part of a spectacular two-day tribute to mark 80 years, there were numerous events and ceremonies taking place across Europe to remember the veterans who took part in the largest amphibious invasion in history.

Writing on about his involvement in 2004, Dick posted: “In 2004, I was privileged enough to be part of the 60th Commemoration of D-day.

“Yesterday, as the children are now old enough to understand, the family joined 1000s of others at Arromanches-les-Bains to remember…. It’s just so important we do not forget the bravery and sacrifice…Dick x.”

Many of Dick’s 483,000 followers praised him for marking the important event and educating his children. One person wrote: ” So important for our children to learn about & learn from our wartime heroes.”

A second person commented: “Doesn’t it take your breath away when you visit? So good to keep the memory alive in future generations x.” A third typed: “Looks like a beautiful day there to remember and commemorate a solemn day in our history.”

The popular programme Escape to the Chateau followed Dick and Angel as they bought and renovated the historic Château de la Motte-Husson, turning it into a thriving business and family home.

However, after six years it was announced last year that Channel 4 would be cancelling their show after concerns were raised over the pair’s conduct.
