Since then, he has dropped out of contention with the likes of and , who Hamilton will join at the end of the season, now quicker than .Reflecting on Hamilton’s time with the Silver Arrows ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Wolff suggested that he would have secured an eighth title by now if he had been given a competitive car.

“I have clearly remarked he’s the greatest driver of all time and if we’re able to give him a quick car he’s going to be able to win,” said Wolff. “He’s able to fight for a championship but we have failed in doing so.”
Though he still bullishly added: “We finished third two years ago, we finished second last year, bearing in mind we haven’t won a race, and we won three this year. So that is not all a failure. That was a pretty good spell for and for Lewis.
“And we will be trying to do it better. We are trying to do it better every single day, every single weekend. And the same will be next season and then the big one in ’26.”
It remains to be seen if Hamilton will finally win his eighth title at . They look set to be one of the fastest teams on the grid next year, having come on leaps and bounds in recent campaigns.

Jacques Villeneuve believes there would be ‘nothing greater’ than seeing Hamilton clinch one more title at , something he believes the Brit is more than capable of doing.
“What he has managed to do, he can do again, there is no doubt about that,” said Villeneuve. “If it doesn’t work out at the moment with , it doesn’t mean he has lost his head.
