Several schools across the country have been shut due to extreme weather conditions
Several on Friday as the Met Office warned of extreme weather conditions for another day. The forecaster has issued of ice and for various parts of the country.
With more chaos likely to occur, some of the have decided to keep their doors closed this week. Many parts of the county have already been covered under snow and more are possible in the next few days.
Areas such as Aberdeenshire, Moray, Falkirk, Dundee, Derby, Leicester, Nottingham, Cumbria, Lancashire are among the various locations where snow and icey conditions could cause trouble.
Snow and ice is likely to result in difficult travelling conditions, the has warned. It added that there is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.
Earlier this week, a large number of schools across Britain were closed due to the severe weather.
The Met Office has issued a several yellow warnings for ice and snow for Friday
Deputy Chief Meteorologist Mike Silverstone said: “Winter hazards will gradually diminish through the weekend, though they will hold on longest in northern Scotland. Substantial snowfall is expected across much of northern England and Scotland for a time on Saturday, mainly over higher ground.”
The Piece Hall School in Halifax was the first to announce it will be closed.
