Emmerdale fans might be bracing themselves for a tumultuous time ahead for Chas Dingle and Liam Cavanagh.
Viewers of the soap will remember that Liam’s former flame Ella Forster re-emerged in the village over the summer. Her murderous secret was unveiled before she fled, leaving a devastated Liam in her wake.
Ella’s comeback was marked by the revelation of her pregnancy, which left Liam shell-shocked. Yet, in a devastating turn of events, a scan revealed no foetus could be found.
After a brief romantic reunion, Liam ended things with Ella, realising his heart still lay with Chas, whom he had previously dated before Ella.
Ella remains bewildered and wounded from the breakup, oblivious to the fact that Liam has discreetly rekindled his romance with Chas, keeping their relationship under wraps, reports .

But given Ella’s dark past, which includes killing her best friend as a child and assaulting Wendy Posner last summer, fans are concerned she may not react well to learning about her ex’s new love life.
During Wednesday’s episode of This Morning, soap guru Sharon Marshall dropped hints about the upcoming storylines, prompting host Cat Deeley to ask: “Chas and Liam are in danger?”
Sharon elaborated: “They are because they’re together and declaring love, of course his ex is someone who has killed someone before when she’s jealous…. so watch out for Ella, is she about to find out the truth?”
Speculation is rife amongst soap fans that Ella could tragically kill Leyla Harding by mistake, mistaking her for Chas. This theory emerges amidst whispers that Roxy Shahidi might be leaving her role as Leyla, which she has held since 2008, after a momentous 16-year stint.

On social media, viewers are airing their theories. One viewer posited: “So will Layla be killed by Ella as she thinks from behind that she is Chas? Mistaken identity #”, and another contemplated: “Maybe that is how Leyla dies. Ella mistakenly believes it’s her Liam is seeing?”
Ella made her entrance into the village earlier this year, with Paula Lane taking on the role. Paula is renowned for her portrayal of Kylie Platt in , a part she played from 2010 to 2016.
