GK Barry could be the first contestant to walk away from the jungle in It comes as the YouTube sensation and Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough failed Wednesday night’s Bushtucker trial on the show.
The pair – who were voted to do it by the British public – joined forces to take on Drown in the Dumps. The podcast star, 25, and radio presenter, 32, were forced to face their fears, with GK, real name Grace Keeling, getting submerged in a large tank.
Unfortunately, the pair didn’t manage to get a single star, so they went back to the camp empty-handed.
PR expert, Edward Coram James has suggested the podcaster could be the first to leave the camp—although it’s too early to say.
Speaking exclusively to Express Online, he said: “In the history of the show, I’ve counted twenty-three celebrities who have thrown in the towel before facing the dreaded vote-off. Remember Danniella Westbrook back in Season 2? Oh, and who could forget Spencer Matthews’ swift exit in Season 19?
I’m A Celeb’s GK Barry failed a Bushtucker trial (November 20)
It’s rare for a season to go by without a malnourished star calling it quits after a few weeks (or, if you’re Spencer Matthews, just three days) of enduring the challenges. It’s practically a jungle rite of passage.”
Addressing which ITV contestant would quit just days in, he suggested: “I’d say the odds were on GK Barry, especially given how she seemed to struggle in the earlier episodes.”
The star was the first celebrity to be voted by the public to take on the 2024 series’ first Bushtucker Trial.
In the Monday (November 18) edition of the show, GK Barry had to take on Vile Volcano, seeing her crawl around underground tunnels filled with creepy crawlies with a spider on her head at one point.
GK Barry has become a favourite among viewers on I’m A Celeb
Hoping to win 10 stars for her campmates, GK Barry won 9.
“But, after [Monday] night’s challenges, she impressed,” Edward shared.
“She faced some serious physical tasks, and she handled them like a pro and that perception flipped. She tackled a seriously tough task and came out looking strong, which probably earned her a lot of respect from both the campmates and viewers at home.”
He added: “It’s still early days, and anyone could find themselves in trouble if they falter or don’t click with the audience.”
