Former MP is launching a reality show to rival – and his luxe lifestyle might go even further than theirs.
It turns out the Rt Hon Sir Jacob, who served as the MP for North East Somerset from 2010 until 2024, has plenty of staff on hand to do his bidding – including ironing his underwear.
In a new trailer for his show Meet the Rees-Moggs, his six children admit they’re “quite posh”. Also making an appearance are several members of staff who work for the household – including a man who has the rather off-putting job of cleaning nasty graffiti aimed at Jacob.
The trailer revealed groundskeeper Shaun “does everything that needs to be done in a busy household”, including scrubbing off rude remarks about Rees-Mogg on his property and the surrounding area.
The house also employs a maid to make up the beds and do the ironing. She admitted: “He’s nicer than I thought he would be. He does like his boxers being ironed.”

Shaun commented: “That’s what he pays your wages for, isn’t it?” as Rees-Mogg himself said: “I’m just lazy, that’s all.”
Jacob’s sons can be heard announcing: “In Somerset we have a mansion!”, playing on a Nintendo Switch console while the latest general election results were announced. The house also boasts impressive grounds and classic cars. In one clip, his son begs to be taken to Disneyland – but Jacob says a resolute no.

But for Jacob’s wife Helena de Chair, it wasn’t love at first sight. She joked: “I shouldn’t tell him that.” His sons, meanwhile, describe their controversial father as “funny”, and in a sweet scene in the trailer the buttoned-up MP can be seen jogging out of the house, hand in hand with his son, who wears a paper crown.
In the trailer, Jacob admitted: “I’m well aware that there are risks in reality TV. I think this will be a rather different kettle of fish, actually, from The Kardashians.”
Meet the Rees-Moggs premiers on Discovery+ on December 2nd.
