The 2024 Drivers’ Championship title could be decided in Las Vegas this weekend as looks to deal the final blow to and secure a fourth successive crown.
The Dutchman must leave Sin City with an advantage of 60 points or greater to claim the title this weekend, with the current gap between the pair sitting at 62 points.
However, many of the discussions heading into the weekend have instead focused on the FIA following a letter from the GPDA and the departure of race director Niels Wittich. Questions are being asked of Mohammed Ben Sulayem’s leadership, while other drivers are sweating over their futures for 2025.

Russell: Drivers ‘fed up’ with the FIA
, head of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association, has explained that the grid is frustrated and disappointed with the leadership of the FIA lately.
The union that he chairs put out a joint statement after the Brazilian Grand Prix, calling out the sport’s governing body over a number of frustrations.
“I think if we feel that we’re being listened to and some of the changes that we are experiencing, requesting, are implemented … then maybe our confidence will increase,” he said in Las Vegas.
“But yeah, I think there’s a number of drivers who feel probably a bit fed up with the whole situation. And it only seems to be going in, to a degree, the wrong direction.”

Norris parrots Verstappen’s F1 75 frustration
is also in favour of skipping the F1 75 car launch event ahead of the 2025 season, despite tickets selling out within hours of going on sale.

“If I get told to be there I guess I’ll be there,” Norris told the media on Thursday. “I might see where Max is going on holiday and join him. It’s a cool event. I’m happy for everyone. I think it sold out extremely quickly.
“It’s cool for a lot of fans, it’s a big thing for Formula One. I don’t know how it’s going to be done. I don’t know the layout of events but I’d rather be at home and relaxing and preparing for the season.
“That’s my side. I don’t like these types of things. I’m not a public person. I like to relax and do my things, but it’s also our job, so, at the end of the day, we can’t complain.”
