There’s good news if your chosen TV is a model made by LG. The Korean technology giant has just confirmed a big content boost is coming to its LG 1 Channel platform with a swathe of top-rated and much-loved films available to view for free. Yes, there really are no subscription fees or long-term contracts to sign. This update is all thanks to LG partnering with NBCUniversal to bring movies from the team at Dreamworks to UL and European homes.

Blockbuster hits that will soon be available include films such as Puss in Boots, How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar and Megamind.

“LG Electronics is set to deliver a remarkable lineup of heartwarming content from DreamWorks Animation and Illumination to France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK,” LG confirmed.

“This will be available through its free ad-supported channel, LG 1, as well as the easily accessible Kids & Family tab on LG Channels, which is dedicated to offering a wide selection of family-friendly content.”

It’s a great upgrade, but before you get too excited, there are some things to note.

Firstly you will need an LG smart telly running LG webOS TV software.

The next thing to be aware of is that not all the movies mentioned above are available in every country.

For example, UK LG TV users will be able to watch Trolls, Kung Fu Panda and Megamind but Madagascar is only being shown in Germany.

Even with that caveat, this is still a nice boost and it will arrive just in time for the festive break so should help to keep the children entertained during the long holiday.

This latest update comes as and movies last month including hits such as Ali, The Aviator and a Tarantino Triple Bill featuring iconic movies Jackie Brown, Reservoir Dogs, and Death Proof.

How to activate LG Channels.
