fans believe they’ve figured out who murdered DS Lisa Swain’s wife, Becky – and the culprit is a resident of the famous street.
The police officer, played by Vicky Myers, first appeared on the soap in 2021, with her daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) making her debut earlier this year. Little is known about Lisa’s history, except that her wife and fellow officer, Becky, died in the line of duty, causing a rift between her and Betsy.
Recently, DS Swain and Betsy have been at the centre of the ITV soap’s whodunnit plot involving Joel Deering (Calum Lill). The vile solicitor, known for his history of abusing and grooming young girls, was killed in September after his crimes were finally brought to light.
DS Swain was leading the investigation as her daughter Betsy was one of the victims targeted by the wicked solicitor before he disappeared and was subsequently murdered.
Several Weatherfield residents became suspects – including Lisa. However, last week it was disclosed that Joel’s murderer was Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) – a victim of his abuse and grooming who he impregnated, with Lauren now mother to Frankie.

Furthermore, due to Joel’s threats towards Lisa’s daughter Betsy, she was removed from the case and has recently been on a hiatus from her police duties. But in Wednesday’s episode (November 20), she was informed that she could return to work the following week, reports .
Later, she was seething at herself for forgetting a significant detail Betsy had mentioned – it was Beckys birthday, and Lisa was clearly oblivious. Mortified by her oversight, Lisa headed to the Rovers Return to wallow in her embarrassment.
Now, in an anticipated twist, enthusiasts believe they’ve deduced the real cause of Lisa’s wife Becky’s death as part of a murder plot.

Fans have taken to a Facebook fan page with a theory that Lisa might be the culprit.
What if she’s been a secret alcoholic all along and she killed Becky? ” speculated a viewer. Another agreed, stating: “100% can see this.” A third concurred, suggesting: “I’m thinking the same, she drinks because she’s responsible for Becky’s murder.”
A fourth fan pondered similar lines: “Swain to have a drinking problem?”
