Denmark head coach Brian Riemer endured an extremely awkward moment after walking out of his press conference following their UEFA Nations League clash with Serbia on Tuesday evening.

In what could be a contender for the shortest press conference in history, the national team boss arrived for his post-match discussion with the media after a goalless draw at the Dubocica Stadium in Belgrade – only to leave 20 seconds later.

As with every media session, the Denmark press officer began by addressing the reporters: “Good evening and welcome to the press conference, we just go ahead with your questions,” he said.

“So please wait for the microphone and state the media that you represent, and then ask your questions for Brian.”

But his request was met with a deafening silence as Riemer, with a confused look on his face, could be seen scanning the audience for potential questions.

There were no volunteers in sight, however, and an excruciating few seconds of silence followed as the 48-year-old waited to speak.

Some 20 seconds after the session began, the press officer then decided to bring an end to proceedings: “No questions? Alright. Thank you so much.”

Riemer got up from his seat and made a swift exit, and the Dane flashed a brief smile as he made his way out of the media room.
