Traffic on the M4 in Wales has ground to a halt this morning following a rush-hour crash.

There are huge tailbacks on the westbound carriageway following the collision between J27 B4591 Glasllwch Crescent (Highcross) to J28 A48 (Tredegar Park). Congestion is trailing to J26 (Malpas Road).

Motorists are being urged to allow extra time travelling on the M4, but have been advised the route is now clear.

Traffic Wales said in a tweet at 7.36am: “Update, now clear.”

Traffic Wales is warning of congestion with possible delays on the M4 eastbound at Junction 28 Tredegar Park to Junction 23A Magor.

Westbound, there are possible delays at Junction 25 Caerleon to Junction 28 Tredegar Park, according to the organisation.
