has said that he and his wife, Anita Dobson, were “driven out” of for a sad reason. The legend had been enjoying an anniversary meal with his other half when he returned to the UK’s capital.

He and Anita currently live in Windlesham in the Surrey Heath borough of Surrey, but used their 24th wedding anniversary date as an excuse to venture back into the city, 25 miles away. The superstar shared that the visit brought “good feelings”.

Posting to social media, Brian shared a sweet snap of him and his wife, with huge smiles on their faces. He captioned the post, writing: “Leaving @ederarestaurantlondon after a completely appropriate evening of food and good feelings.

“This restaurant used to be our local haunt.” Explaining why it isn’t anymore, May continued: “But since we were driven out of the city by the flood that destroyed so much of Anita’s precious memorabilia…

“And our feelings of security, we now drive an hour and a half there and back just to dine with these old friends.”

Sharing a shameless promo for one of his favourite food places, Brian said: “Recommended !!! Best Melanzane Parmigiana in town !!! And for me a glass of Vermentino and one of their exquisitely Italian mixed salads.

“Unashamed promotion? Yes indeed, because these folks have made us feel like Family for many years now.

“If you wanna book, SWIPE for their calling card. Cheers all – and thanks again for the anniversary wishes. Bri.”

In a second post, he added: “Take care out there folks and Carpe Diem! Because tomorrow … who knows where the wind might blow … Bri.”

Brian and Anita tied the knot on 18th November 2000, but met many years before at a film premiere in 1986. Speaking about their relationship previously, the The Bohemian Rhapsody rocker wrote: “And on this day 34 years ago this track was released – a collaboration born of a love that was to blow both our lives apart.”

He went on: “But it eventually led to a marriage that has somehow endured for 24 years. Look, folks – I have to point out – you’re not looking at ‘My Perfect Life’ in these last 3 posts of mine.

“Anita would agree with me in saying that our marriage needed hard work every day of the week throughout those years.

“Relationships are not easy, especially since we seldom fall in love ‘conveniently’ (think Romeo and Juliet !). But just being able to start again every day can go a long way towards keeping it together. And the rewards are many and manifest.”
