Temperatures in the UK are set to drop to a chilly -11C this week up and down the country
Snow is , and temperatures dropped to -7C overnight.
Weather maps from WX Charts, aided by Metdesk data, show temperatures dropping further in Scotland on Thursday, November 21.
The map shows an area of the Scottish Highlands just north of Fort William where temperatures may drop to -11C in two days’ time.
In other parts of northern Scotland, temperatures will mostly range from between -4C and -6C, the map suggests.

While the Highlands will see the coldest conditions, other parts of the UK will also be cold.
The map shows that the area surrounding Lancaster will see the coldest conditions in England, with much of the Midlands also bracing for temperatures well below freezing.
The snowy and icy conditions have resulted in 200 schools closing on Tuesday.

Speaking about the weather conditions between Thursday and Saturday, the weather agency said: “Sunshine and wintry showers Thursday and Friday, with frost and ice overnight. Perhaps rain and hill snow briefly affecting southwest England. Turning wet and windy Saturday, with some snow initially.”
Speaking about the coming days, Chief Meteorologist Dan Suri said: “An area of low pressure slides its way eastwards on Monday night.
“The associated frontal system will bring disruptive snow between Monday evening and Tuesday morning…this is likely to coincide with rush hour, leading to disruption to some transport routes across a central swathe of the UK.”

The also issued a statement advising people on what to do to stay safe. They said: “Snow showers will develop during Tuesday night and through Wednesday morning. Some lying snow is likely with 1-2 cm in places and a risk of up to 5 cm over higher ground. Ice will readily form on untreated surfaces.
“Snowy, wintry weather can cause delays and make driving conditions dangerous. Keep yourself and others safe by planning your route, giving yourself extra time for your journey. Check for road closures or delays to public transport and amend plans if necessary.
“Keep yourself and your family safe when it is icy. Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal. Not needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls.
“If driving, make sure you have some essentials in your car in the event of any delays (e.g., warm clothing, food, water, a blanket, a torch, ice scraper/de-icer, a warning triangle, high visibility vest, and an in-car phone charger).”
