Mike has opened up on his One Automotive business
host Mike Brewer has shared the brutal four-word message he relays to owners.
As well as his TV work on Wheeler Dealers, Mike alongside his wife Michelle and business partner James.
He set up his base in Leamington Spa 12 years ago from a building housing his private car collection. The company now sells a variety of used models from family SUVs to hatchbacks.
Last month, Mike opened up on receiving some complaints from customers buying second-hand vehicles.
However, he revealed he tells customers that he is not solely responsible for issues later down the line.
Mike and James have been running the business for over a decade
: “We’ve adapted a mentality to the business which is perfect. We want everything to be very much like we all suffer in the motor trade ‘cars are cars’.
“I keep saying to the people that would come back with a complaint over a slow tyre or a slow puncture or an exhaust they’ve rattled off as they’ve gone over a sleeping policeman.”
Mike said he is now telling used classic car buyers “I didn’t build it”. He explained: “I will tell them ‘I didn’t build it, I’ve just sold it to you. I’m not the manufacturer’. We always run up against them problems.”

with stolen credit card information, forcing Mike to repay money to the affected individual.
Mike faced losing the cash and the model but struck lucky after police intercepted the vehicle and returned it to the TV star.
and promised motorists would now have to arrive at their HQ to finalise a deal.
Mike revealed he “loved” working at his One Automotive base and accepted he was still very hands-on with the business.
Mike added: “It’s almost like my escape room and I go and hang out with James. He normalises me.
“When I get there someone will throw a rag in my hand and say ‘give that screen a wipe, or ‘can you give us a lift to the MOT centre?’. So it normalises me and it’s what I’m good at.
“I’m good at talking to people and just being around. And I absolutely love it.”
