Boris accused Starmer of never standing firm on his principles
has accused Keir Starmer of being a “rapist-releasing Remoaner” and “Captain Hindsight” in a scathing review of his performance in politics.
The former Prime Minister has ruthlessly dissected Sir Keir’s faults in his new book , and whittled it down to one characteristic: his ability to change his opinions with the wind, a trait he attributed to being a typical lawyer.
Johnson, writing in reference to the pandemic lockdowns and Sir Keir’s former job, said: “Most voters agreed with Labour in wanting the Government to impose tighter restrictions, while Tory MPs were growing increasingly ansty about lockdown.
“It was hard, at times, to carry my party with me. But after a while, I worked out that Starmer’s persona – the North London lawyer – could be turned against him. Not only was he basically a rapist-releasing Remoaner. He was a barrister.”

Johnson continued to share his favourite nicknames for the current PM, branding Starmer the “human bollard” and “Sire Crasheroonie Snoozefest”, coined after what he believed was an unsatisfactory performance at PMQs.
The former Prime Minister wrote: “He was ‘Captain Hindsight’, I said; and by the spring of 2021 I had noticed something else.
“There was something slightly stolid about his handling of PMQs/ I mean that in spite of his credentials as a prosecutor, he could be a bit slow on the turn.
“He would ask a question and I would answer it, and then he would simply ask it again. I started to call him ‘the human bollard’ and ‘Sir Crasheroonie Snoozefest’ – and I think it began to get under his skin.”

In response to the criticism, Labour MP Pat McFadden, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, told Express.co.uk: “Whether it’s or the four current Tory leadership candidates, it’s the same circus but with a different face. The have learnt nothing about why the public kicked them from office. Labour is getting on with the job of cleaning up their mess.”
