Chopstick trick guarantees ‘perfect bite’ of noodles every time – with no mess

Let’s face it, eating noodles with chopsticks can be messy.

If you’re not well-versed in the art of using chopsticks correctly, the prospect of navigating them can be intimidating. There’s a particular way you’re supposed to hold them in order to capture the effectively, and it requires patience to master.

Even when you can hold chopsticks properly, eating noodles is often a noisy mess that involves picking up a large clump, shovelling them into your mouth and then slurping up the remains that dangle down your chin, praying that you don’t get any sauce down your shirt in the process.

But if you’re planning on celebrating National Noodle Day today (October 6) with your favourite bowl of ramen or chow mein, then one woman has the for you that guarantees a mess-free experience.

Saemmul Song on says there’s a way you can “twirl” your noodles around your chopsticks in the same way you would when eating spaghetti with a knife and fork – and it guarantees a “perfect bite”.

Chopsticks hack

In her video, Saemmul explains the trick is commonly used in South Korea, and it just involves getting a little bit creative with your chopsticks and the bowl your noodles are sitting in.

She said: “I don’t know if this is a Korean thing, it’s probably not, but in case you didn’t know, this is how you twirl noodles using chopsticks. It’s not going to work if you try to twist it like a fork. Instead, pick up a little bit of your noodles and just make circles around your plate or bowl.”

She demonstrated the hack by twirling her chopsticks around the bowl, showing how she could expertly wind the noodles into a neat ball that could be eaten without any fuss. Saemmul triumphantly declared: “You’ll end up with the perfect bite. You’re welcome!”

Social media users were astounded by her technique, with many hailing it as revolutionary.
